Euro 2024: Bellingham suspended for 1 game after controversial gesture

English international fined 30 thousand euros
UEFA has decided to punish Jude Bellingham with a one-match suspension after the England international’s controversial gesture towards the Slovakia bench in the round of 16 of Euro 2024. However, this is not an immediate punishment – it should take effect within a year – so the player will be able to face Switzerland in the quarter-finals .
Bellingham was also fined 30 thousand euros.

It should be noted that the Real Madrid player took to social media to try to justify himself and claimed that he made a “private joke to some friends who were at the game”, clarifying that he had “respect” for the way Slovakia played.
