Mbappé on moving to Real Madrid: “I’ve started hating failure again”
French forward and captain of the French national team also spoke about his return to the Parc des Princes
Kylian Mbappé was chosen to be alongside Didier Deschamps at the France national team’s press conference ahead of their Nations League match against Italy on Friday . The Les Bleus captain reflected on the change of scenery after leaving PSG to sign for Real Madrid .
“I’m very happy to be in Madrid , things are going very well and we’ve already won a trophy. My performances are getting better and better, I’ve scored goals and I’m still here with the same energy, with the desire to help the French team as much as possible,” said the forward, who also spoke about a change in mentality when he signed for Los Blancos.
“I feel very good, very happy. I’m a starter, I’m in a place where I always wanted to be. Last year [at PSG ], there was a certain distance. Throughout my career, I hated defeat. Last year, I loved winning. Now I’m back in the same frame of mind of hating failure,” he added.
The clash against Italy will be at the Parc des Princes, marking Mbappé ‘s return to the home of his former team, PSG . However, although he admits that the return is “special”, the forward also guarantees that “it doesn’t matter” what kind of reception he receives.
“It’s special. I’ve spent many years here, I have many memories, great memories, with my family, my teammates, the club. Now, what kind of welcome do I expect? I’m not expecting much, I don’t care. The important thing is to win,” said Mbappé .
