Éder Militão’s injury has added to Real Madrid ‘s list of casualties at the start of the season. The defender, who was cut from the Brazilian squad due to a problem in his right thigh , became the seventh absence for coach Carlo Ancelotti in less than a month, since the start of the official match calendar. In the current FIFA World Cup alone, three players have been diagnosed with injuries.
The defender joins Tchouaméni and Mendy – who were ruled out after reporting for the French national team this week. The trio adds to the list of medical professionals who already had Bellingham, Camavinga and Ceballos, all with injuries in recent weeks. The team also has Alaba, who has been recovering from a serious injury since December.
“Marca” reports that Militão’s injury has caused “monumental discomfort” at Real Madrid as it is yet another one to happen to one of their players while playing for a national team. The club hopes to have him back in a month at the most. Everything will depend on the tests carried out in the Spanish capital: the most optimistic timeframe is two weeks out of action.
Carlo Ancelotti is expecting to have at least one of the eight players out for Real Madrid’s next LaLiga match against Real Sociedad on September 14. Jude Bellingham, who suffered an ankle injury on August 23, is expected to be out for a month . Camavinga could be out for two months after picking up the injury before the first official game of the season. Ceballos could also miss two months of matches with an ankle problem.
