Two more goals and another record for Erling Haaland
Norwegian striker has now scored nine goals in four games and broken a record previously held by Wayne Rooney
Erling Haaland is having an unstoppable start to the season. This Saturday, the Norwegian forward was decisive in the Citizens ‘ victory over the Bees (2-1), scoring twice in the match, his eighth and ninth goals in the league. In this way, the Scandinavian striker achieved something unprecedented in the competition, as no one had ever scored nine goals in the first four games of the championship.
Before this record, we have to go back to the 2011/12 season to find such a prolific start to a season for a striker. That season, Wayne Rooney scored eight goals for Manchester United in the first four Premier League games .
However, there were those who came close to beating that mark. Three years later, in 2014/15, Diego Costa scored eight goals for Chelsea in the same series of matches.
It should be noted that with this goal Erling Haaland now has 99 goals for Manchester City, in all competitions, in 103 games.
