Real Madrid’s Carvajal dreams of the Ballon d’Or

Spanish full-back is the only one of the nominees to be Champions League and Euro Cup champion in 2023/24

The only one to have won the Champions League and the Euro Cup in 2023/24 among the nominees for the 2024 Ballon d’Or , Carvajal dreams of winning the award. The Real Madrid right-back has already been named by the Spanish press as one of the main candidates precisely because he won the main titles of the season. However, the favorite is Vinicius Junior, also from the Merengue club.

– In terms of statistics, it was one of the best seasons of my career. In terms of titles, it is practically unbeatable. I am very happy to be nominated for the Ballon d’Or. And why not (to be the winner)? I would dream of winning this award, but for me, simply being there is a great success – said the player, in a press conference this Monday.

With Real Madrid, Carvajal won the Champions League (being part of the tournament’s best team) , the Spanish Championship and the Spanish Super Cup. A starter for Spain, he helped the national team win the Euro. He scored seven goals and provided eight assists in 54 games in 2023/24.
