Benfica beat Crvena Zvezda 2-1 this Thursday in the first round of the Champions League phase. At the Rajko Mitić stadium, coach Bruno Lage secured his second consecutive victory in charge of the team, since returning to the Portuguese Championship in September. Benfica took the lead just nine minutes into the first half. Star player Di María started the play on the right, dribbled and left Pavlidis well positioned inside the area. The striker lifted the ball so that Aktürkoglu could simply push it into the net. The two-nil goal came with a brilliant free kick from fellow Turkish player Kökçü, who scored over the wall. Crvena Zvezda did not give up on the victory, pressed and managed to pull one back. After a beautiful pass from Ndiaye, Milson was one-on-one with the goalkeeper and made no mistake in the 41st minute of the second half.
