Matheus Nunes’ mother says: “Fake news, they are trying to destroy his career”
Catia Nunes confirmed that her son was in Madrid on vacation, but stated that the Portuguese international did not commit any crime, nor was he arrested
A few hours after the newspaper El Mundo reported that Matheus Nunes was arrested and taken for questioning after stealing a cell phone from a nightclub in Madrid, while on vacation, the mother of the Portuguese international came to his defense, this Wednesday, stating that this never happened.
“Look, this is all a big lie, these are bad and unhappy people trying to destroy my son’s career. Pure fake news . He really did go to Madrid with friends, but nothing they are saying is true,” he assured, in an interview with PL Brasil.
Meanwhile, the English newspaper Mirror also reported that the former Sporting player was not arrested by the Spanish authorities, but that the police were in fact called to the scene after the Manchester City midfielder pushed the 58-year-old man, who kept taking photos of him. The English press also highlights that Matheus Nunes is not facing any legal action regarding this incident.
