Hummels upset over lack of minutes at Roma

Centre-back was a big signing in the summer, but has yet to play this season

Mats Hummels has yet to play this season for Roma , a situation that is causing surprise in Italy, given the importance that this signing represented for the club, and with which the player himself is not pleased.

Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, the 35-year-old posted photos of himself in the Italian capital with the caption: “Roma so far. I’ll add match photos soon I think.”

After leading Borussia Dortmund to last season’s Champions League final (lost to Real Madrid ), Hummels joined Roma on a free transfer. Upon his arrival, he admitted that he needed two weeks to get back to his desired fitness. Four weeks have passed since then and Hummels is still waiting to make his debut for the club.

The coach who signed Hummels, De Rossi, has since been replaced by Ivan Juric. The Croatian has called Hummels up for games, but prefers to play with Gianluca Mancini , Evan N’Dicka and Mario Hermoso in central defence.
