His parents fled the war in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Eduardo Camavinga was born in November 2002 in the Miconje refugee camp in Angola . He moved with his parents to Lille in France when he was two years old, and played for Drapeau Fougères’ youth teams for five years, before signing with Rennes in 2013. Promoted to the Rouge et Noir main squad by Julien Stéphan , who was his coach in the B team, Camavinga played his first official game in April 2019, in a 3-3 draw with Angers . There were, in total, seven Ligue 1 matches . On 14 December 2018, when he was promoted, he became the youngest player to sign a professional contract with Rennes.
