A festive match between Spanish and French YouTubers at the Metropolitano Stadium in Madrid was interrupted for a few minutes after French players accused a fan of racist abuse.
The confusion occurred in the second half, when one of the French players began arguing with the fan. The referee stopped the game, and the discussion became heated on the edge of the stands, with several French players endorsing the accusation of racism.
A journalist from the Spanish newspaper “Marca” released images of the French team returning to the dressing room, with players saying “Spain is racist” and “No to racism”.
The stadium’s sound system asked the fans to show respect: “We are putting on a show that does not identify with us.” The fan accused by the French was removed from the stadium by security agents. After a few minutes, the two teams returned to the field, and the match was restarted.
