Surprise in sight: Balotelli is very close to returning to Serie A

At 34 years old, the controversial forward is preparing to be Vitinha’s teammate

Mario Balotelli has been without a club since leaving Turkish side Adana Demirspor at the end of last season, but a return to Italian football is becoming an increasingly real possibility: the next step in the Italian’s career seems likely to be joining Genoa .

After the Italian press reported that there were talks between the two parties, this Sunday SportMediaSet reports that the agreement is already imminent. Balotelli has been training with the Brescia squad, in order to maintain his physical fitness while he is without a club and, therefore, it is expected that he will be ready to return to action, says the same source.

The current 18th-placed team in Serie A is looking for a solution to the injuries that have affected the team’s forwards, including those of the Portuguese Vitinha and Júnior Messias .

If confirmed, it would be Balotelli’s return to Italian football, where he played for Inter , Milan , Brescia and Monza .
