Barcelona updates Lamine Yamal situation
Player released from the national team underwent tests in Barcelona; there is a classic with Real Madrid on the 26th
Barcelona issued an update on Monday on the condition of Yamine Lamal, who was dropped from the Spain squad after withdrawing from the Nations League match against Denmark with a fitness complaint .
The young player was at Barcelona’s training centre this morning to undergo further medical examinations, after the federation spoke of “overload” when deciding to release him.
“Tests carried out this morning on Lamine Yamal have confirmed the existence of an overload in the hamstring tendon of his left thigh. The timing of his return to training will depend on his progress,” read the Barcelona statement.
Yamal could miss next Sunday’s game against Sevilla, when La Liga resumes. Until then, according to the newspaper Sport, the player will be treated ‘with tweezers’ to prevent it from getting worse and to be available for the derby on the 26th at the Bernabéu, against Real Madrid.
