Anderlecht and Hamburg
A graduate of Anderlecht ‘s youth teams , he began his career with the Belgian club in 2003, at the age of 17. In July 2006 he was signed by Hamburg , revealing that he had been approached by Chelsea and Lyon , but that he ended up turning down both proposals.
Manchester City
