Vitinha: «Mbappé? PSG is stronger than last year»
Guest on RMC’s ‘Rothen s’enflamme’ programme, the Portuguese midfielder praised coach Luis Enrique and spoke about PSG’s ambitions in the Champions League
Vitinha is increasingly establishing himself as one of PSG ‘s leading figures . In his third season in the French capital, the Portuguese midfielder is already one of the players who has been at the club the longest, and he believes that it is better than in previous years, despite the departure of Kylian Mbappé : «I think PSG is stronger now than it was last year. And it will be even stronger. Now, when you lose a player who is one of the best in the world, a player who scores 50 goals, it obviously changes the team, the dynamic. It changes everything, but not necessarily for the worse. There are several players who score goals.»
“I think we have all the capacity to have a great Champions League . That’s what we want. We want to play well, we want to win and we’re going to do everything we can to do that. Even though we’re young, even though we don’t have much experience in the Champions League, we’re a group with a lot of quality,” continued the Portuguese international.
Finally, Vitinha praised the Parisians’ coach Luis Enrique: «Individually, he helped me reach a level that I didn’t expect to reach so soon. I expected to reach this level, but not in a year. Collectively, last season, we won the Coupe de France, we won the League and we reached the Champions League semi-finals. It was an incredible season.»
«He speaks very individually and I like that. I like things to be very clear. I identify a lot with his ideas about the game and, even on a human level, he is incredible», he concluded.
