Real Madrid: Ancelotti invites son of former Benfica player to training
José Antonio Reyes, 17-year-old forward, was present at the session this Thursday
As usual when some players from the first team are missing due to injury, Carlo Ancelotti turned to Real Madrid ‘s young players to complete the squad in training. In this Thursday’s session, the highlight was the call-up of José Antonio Reyes, a 17-year-old striker, son of the late former football player for Benfica , Real Madrid , Atlético Madrid , Sevilla and Arsenal , among others.
The striker is part of the Merengues youth team and has been progressing since joining the Spanish team’s youth teams, shortly after his father’s death, in 2019, following a car accident.
Reyes signed a new contract a few days ago until 2027, and a bright future is expected in Valdebebas due to his quality, as well as his physical strength and mentality.
