Marcelo leaves cryptic message after termination with Fluminense

After controversy with the coach, the former Real Madrid player said goodbye to the fans of his training club and highlighted the titles he won upon his return to Brazil

After the mutual and immediate termination of the contract between Marcelo and Fluminense , the player left a farewell message to the fans of the Rio de Janeiro club.

“I had a wonderful time at this club. Almost two years ago I decided to return, motivated by my emotional connection with the team. I took part in unforgettable moments, such as winning the first Libertadores in the club’s history. My name will be immortalized in the renovated Marcelo Vieira Stadium, where our kids from Xerém train every day,” he began by writing, before ending with an enigmatic sentence about the controversial situation with his former coach, Mano Menezes.

“I want to thank my wife and children for always being by my side and for all the sacrifices they made for me. I am proud of what I have achieved and I thank everyone who made this moment unique, especially the president, employees and my teammates. I also thank the Tricolor fans for their support. I will always carry Fluminense in my heart. The truth, like the sun, will always shine,” he concluded.
