“It sounds crazy, but Gyokeres is a better version of Haaland”

Van der Vaart praised the Lions’ Swedish forward

Rafael van der Vaart has argued that Sporting forward Viktor Gyokeres is better than Erling Haaland , despite the Norwegian international’s status at Manchester City .

“It sounds crazy, but I think he’s a slightly better version of Haaland. Haaland is unbelievable, of course, but Gyokeres has a bit more,” the former Dutch international told Ziggo Sport , in the preview of the duel between the two, in Sporting-Man.City (4-1).

Marco Van Basten also praised the Sporting player: «He is a real footballer. A striker who can also play football. He is strong, scores goals easily and is calm in front of goal. He can also dribble past the goalkeeper, he is a very good striker.»

The 26-year-old Swede did not disappoint expectations, scoring a hat trick against the Citizens .
