Tottenham appeals punishment imposed on Bentancur for racism
Uruguayan midfielder has been banned for seven games by the English FA for a comment about teammate Son Heung-min
Tottenham have appealed the seven-match suspension handed down to Rodrigo Bentancur , announced by the English FA on Monday, according to the British press.
It should be noted that the Uruguayan international was punished with suspension plus a fine of 100,000 pounds (around 118,000 euros) following an interview on television in his country in which he made comments about the physical appearance of his South Korean teammate Son .
There is a possibility that the punishment could be postponed until the appeal verdict is heard, so Spurs are still hopeful that Bentancur will be able to face Manchester City in the Premier League on Saturday .
