Hjulmand nominated for Denmark’s best footballer of the year
Sporting captain competes for the award, the winner of which will be revealed on January 4th
Morten Hjulmand is among those shortlisted for Denmark ‘s 2024 Footballer of the Year award .
The Sporting captain , who is in his second season at Alvalade, has competition from Joachim Andersen ( Fulham ) and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg ( Marseille ) in the race for the prize.
The winner of the award, awarded by the Danish federation in association with that country’s players’ union, is chosen by the players and will be announced at a gala scheduled for January 4th.
«Less than a year and a half ago, Morten Hjulmand made his debut for the Danish national team. Therefore, his career has been emerging in recent times”, reads a post on the federation’s social networks.
The 25-year-old midfielder, who has 66 games in Alvalade (six goals), has 15 appearances for the Danish national team.
