Coach asked how he could take advantage of strong Chelsea ties to strengthen squad
Frank Lampard was presented as the new manager of Coventry City – the former club of Sporting star Gyokeres – and was asked how he could take advantage of his strong connection with Chelsea to strengthen the squad. The coach gave a curious answer that involved a Portuguese international.
“I’m going to bring João Félix from Chelsea ,” he said, in a moment that drew laughter in the press room.
Lampard and João Félix crossed paths at Chelsea in the former Benfica player ‘s first spell at the London club, in the second half of 2022/2023.
