Former Spanish forward Jonathan Valle was arrested at his home as part of a Spanish police operation against drug trafficking. In addition to the former player, ten other people were arrested, including eight men and two women, aged between 27 and 61, according to El Diario Montañés. 3,500 doses of drugs, valued at 250,000 euros, plus 26,800 euros in banknotes, a vehicle, a firearm, 14 bladed weapons, 14 mobile phones and 18 watches were confiscated in this operation known as “Operation Fire”.

Precision scales and money were found in searches of the former striker’s home, but Jonathan Valle was eventually released on parole pending trial. The Spanish press has reported that authorities believe they have dismantled one of the largest criminal organisations in Cantabria, an autonomous community in northern Spain.

Jonathan Valle is currently 39 years old and retired from the pitch in 2017. He spent almost his entire career in Spanish football, having played for Racing Santander, Málaga, Ponferradina and Leganés among others.
