Ruben Amorim’s first market priority
Man. United risk losing young talent Amad Diallo on free transfer
Ruben Amorim does not want to waste time putting together his team at Manchester United and, to that end, his priority now is to renew a player whose contract is coming to an end: Amad Diallo .
The information is advanced by The Telegraph , stating that the young Ivorian, signed from Atalanta in 2021, has signed a contract with the Red Devils that ends next June. United have the option to extend the contract for another year, but they have to inform the player by January and, if they do not do so, Diallo could sign a pre-agreement with another club that month, with a view to a move, on a free transfer, at the end of the season.
The same newspaper claims that sources within United assure that this contractual situation will be discussed internally in the coming weeks. However, it is expected that Amorim will want to continue with the player, who was a full-time player in the two games that the Portuguese coached in the Premier League , against Ipswich and Everton .
Diallo has been used on the right wing of the 3x4x3 system that Amorim has been implementing and in these two English league games, the player has added three assists.
After the thrashing of the Toffees , Amorim commented on Diallo’s performances to the BBC : “He is big on talent, but small on size. He did a great job, but he also has to improve. He was very good in defense, in attack and he has to continue playing like that.”
