Arteta compares Arsenal player to Ronaldo: “Probably no one expected it…”
Arsenal boss praises Bukayo Saka
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has heaped praise on Bukayo Saka , not appearing surprised by Jorginho ‘s comments that the England international could win the Ballon d’Or in the future.
“They train and share the dressing room with Saka every day. For a player and teammate to say that is always very positive and shows how much they believe in him and his potential. In terms of numbers, yes [he has made a qualitative leap], but we always see that change every year. He is always adding things to his game and becoming more and more consistent. His impact, in terms of goals and assists, is incredible at this stage of the season. And it can only get better, because he has the players around him to do that,” he said, in the preview of the duel with Manchester United , with Ruben Amorim, Diogo Dalot and Bruno Fernandes , counting for the 14th round of the Premier League , speaking then about Cristiano Ronaldo .
“Probably no one expected Ronaldo to do what he did after his first two seasons at Manchester United , but it was down to his mentality, work ethic and the way he developed. Playing in a team that has the ability to be dominant is also important, he [ Saka ] has that background and if he is aiming for that [ Ronaldo ‘s success ], it is a positive thing,” he said.
