Diallo reveals conversation with Amorim: “I told the coach, if he needs me in goal, I’m ready”
Ivorian committed to new Manchester United coach
Amad Diallo has had one of the most positive performances for Manchester United since the arrival of Ruben Amorim. The Ivory Coast international has set up three goals in two Premier League games , playing on the right, and has received praise from the manager, who has even spoken out about the need to renew his contract.
On the club’s website, the 22-year-old player revealed one of the conversations he had with the Portuguese coach and admitted that he can play in any position, even in goal!
“We can’t focus on just one position. Sometimes we might have to play as a defender, other times as a forward. Wherever the coach wants to put me, I’m ready to fight for the team. I have no problem playing as a right winger or number 10, I can play anywhere. As I told the coach, if he needs me in goal as a goalkeeper, I’m ready to give my best!” he said, having scored three goals and provided five assists in 19 games.
Amorim already noticed and praised him after the 4-0 victory over Everton. «He was very good in defense and very good in attack, so he has to continue playing like that. At the end you could feel that he was very tired, we have to manage that to increase his physical capacity.»
