“I will definitely talk to Mbappé about Real Madrid, but he won’t tell me anything”
Eduardo Camavinga can act as an undercover agent for Real Madrid in the next meeting with the French team, but he is not confident in obtaining much information about Kylian Mbappé’s future. That’s what he said at the press conference before the second leg of the Champions League round of 16 against RB Leipzig.
Eduardo Camavinga, Real Madrid’s French midfielder, stated that he is unaware of his teammate Kylian Mbappé’s decision on the team he will play for next season and showed respect for his current club, Paris Saint-Germain.
“I haven’t spoken to him, he’s a PSG player and I don’t know what he will do next season. Mbappé is not our player, and I will respect his team. Everything people say, I really don’t know. I’m in Real Madrid’s dressing room and I’m enjoying my moment,” he said at the press conference.
Although Camavinga does not rule out asking Mbappé about his decision during the March camp, he believes that the attacker will not reveal anything: “The truth is that, when I am with the national team, it is to enjoy it. We will certainly talk about it, but he will not will say nothing. It’s normal.”
Focusing on Real Madrid’s game against RB Leipzig, in the Champions League, Camavinga classified the clash as “very important” and believes they should not think they have an advantage after the one-goal victory in Germany. For him, the white team “is always favorite” to win the Champions League.
“We must play with pleasure in front of our fans. I just want to win, and that’s it. The best way to win is always to attack. Let’s do our best to score goals and not fall behind,” he said.
The young French player acknowledged that he learns from Luka Modric “his position” and admires “the magic he possesses”, and from Toni Kroos “his calmness and long game”. In personal terms, he chose the driving position as his favorite and was honest when talking about what he feels needs to improve.
“I like playing as a midfielder more, but I can play more advanced in midfield. I think I need to have more concentration, score more goals and provide more assists. And improve my right leg”, he confessed.
Camavinga maintains a great friendship with Vinicius Junior, who he recommends focusing on the game without engaging in provocations. “He’s always with me, he’s a good person. He’s always focused on football, I told him to stop talking because it doesn’t help, but he scores goals. If people talk, it’s good for us.”
