Ancelotti: “Mbappé has to hold on to the moment, fight, sacrifice himself”
Forward remains in the eye of the storm
Kylian Mbappé was once again the subject of Carlo Ancelotti’s press conference ahead of the match against Girona on matchday 16 of La Liga . The forward missed a penalty in the defeat to Athletic Bilbao .
« Mbappé is aware that he is not at his best. He said that after the game and we are with him. He is not able to perform at his best, there are many who do not realize that, but he is aware of that», he began by saying, in a press conference.
“Penalties are a problem at the moment, sometimes he is motivated, sometimes not. He has to hold on to the moment, fight, sacrifice himself, because sooner or later it will end. What gives me a good feeling is that he has improved his intensity in the last few games. I think it is a problem of continuity and it will come when he and his teammates adapt to his characteristics, which are peculiar and special,” he added.
Ancelotti also commented on the Club World Cup draw , which placed Real Madrid in Group H, along with Jorge Jesus’ Al Hilal , Pachuca and Salzburg : “It was a beautiful presentation, with my friend Del Piero. I think it will be an entertaining competition for the fans, but we still have time to think about it.”
