All the same

City played poorly again and only drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace this Saturday in the 15th round of the Premier League. The home side created more chances, especially in the first half, and were twice ahead on the scoreboard, but allowed Guardiola’s team to react. Defenders Muñoz and Lacroix scored for Crystal Palace, while Haaland and Rico Lweis scored for the visitors.

In the table

The result is very bad for City, who are now eight points behind leaders Liverpool and have played a game more, as the leaders had their match against Everton postponed due to winds and storms. City are fourth on 27 points. Crystal Palace have 13 and remain outside the relegation zone.

The 90 minutes

Crystal Palace were more dangerous in the first half. They opened the scoring in the 3rd minute, with Muñoz, and could have extended their lead, but Rúben Dias saved City on two occasions. The visitors equalized in the 29th minute, with a header from Haaland after a cross from Matheus Nunes. In the second half, City tried to take more control of the game, but continued to give up space and conceded a header from Lacroix after a mistake by Walker. The equalizer came with Rico Lewis in one of City’s few inspired passing moves in the game. In the end, Rico Lewis was sent off.

Game name

Haaland scored with a header and equaled Salah in the Premier League scoring charts with 13 goals. But the best player on the pitch was Crystal Palace midfielder Hughes. He provided both of his team’s assists and almost scored a great goal in the first half, but Rúben Dias saved City.
