Argentina announces squad for friendlies on FIFA Data

Inter Miami star joins the squad led by Lionel Scaloni for the games against El Salvador and Costa Rica, at Data FIFA

The Argentine national team announced the squad for the next Data Fifa games. This Friday (01), Lionel Scaloni announced the 26 players called up for the duels against El Salvador and Costa Rica, which will take place on March 22nd and 27th. Inter Miami star and hero of the third world championship, Lionel Messi is among those selected by the coach.
The only new addition to the squad is Valentín Barco, 19 years old. A standout for Boca Juniors in Libertadores 2023, the midfielder moved to Brighton, England. Another important name is Di María, who has already announced his retirement from the Albiceleste team after the Copa América dispute.

Argentina leads the South American Qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, with 15 points from six matches. The two friendlies on this FIFA Date, the last before the Copa América, take place in the United States, one of the host countries of the next World Cup: the brothers face El Salvador in Philadelphia, and Costa Rica in Los Angeles.
