Dele Alli announces the start of a new adventure: “It’s time to turn the page”
The Englishman said goodbye to Everton, the club he was no longer contractually linked to since the summer, and revealed that he will take on a new challenge
Without a club since the end of last season, Dele Alli announced that he will start a new adventure abroad, probably in Serie A with Como, led by Cesc Fàbregas – he himself revealed that the athlete will train, on a trial basis, at the Italian club -, but, first, he made a point of thanking the Everton fans for their support , in one of the most complicated periods of his life.
“As has been widely reported, 2025 could see me on a new path with some exciting opportunities. Before that happens, it’s really important for me to make it clear how grateful I am to all the Everton fans, staff and players for the support they have given me,” he began by saying on social media, lamenting the injuries he has suffered in recent years.
“It has been an incredibly difficult journey trying to piece together my fitness and I cannot thank the Everton team enough for the hard work they have put into this process. Unfortunately, things have not gone as we all hoped and I feel it is the right time to turn the page. I would like to wish everyone at this fantastic club the best of luck and I hope we will see each other again soon.”
Before hosting Chelsea , his former manager Sean Dyche also had some words of appreciation for the midfielder: «The most important thing we agreed as a team was to get him back to a good place and I think he is there. He has been so unlucky with injuries that you can’t imagine the challenges he has had. We wish him well and that’s all we can do. He was very easy to work with. Now it’s a new challenge but we wish him all the best.»
