Palmeiras ask Man. City for more money for Vitor Reis: “I’m in no rush”
Leila Pereira, president of Abel Ferreira’s team, is not entirely satisfied with the proposal from the ‘citizens’ and wants her player to remain in Brazil until at least the Club World Cup
Faced with Manchester City ‘s offer of around 40 million euros for Vitor Reis, Palmeiras is not completely satisfied, mainly due to the fixed amounts, and is asking for more money to complete the transfer.
Leila Pereira, president of Abel Ferreira’s team, explained the situation and revealed that another requirement is the continuity of the 19-year-old until the Club World Cup , in which he will face FC Porto : «I would like to. That would be my wish. If we agreed on the price, we would sell him now and he would go after the World Cup, but all of that is being discussed. It may not be possible.»
«There was an official offer from Manchester City , but we are negotiating. I won’t talk about the amount, but it didn’t reach what Palmeiras wants, but I’m not in a hurry. Vitor still has a long contract. We are talking and if we reach an amount that is good for Palmeiras , for the athlete and for Manchester City, then ok. But for now nothing has been decided», he assured, suggesting that the difference is in the region of a few million euros.
“It’s not much of a difference, but for Palmeiras it’s significant. For them, it’s not. As I’m in no rush, we’ll keep talking (laughs)”, he added, as the centre-back continues to prepare for pre-season with the team. He also mentioned that Verdão has 100% of the rights to Vitor Reis, a product of his training.
