Official: Erling Haaland signs with Manchester City until 2034
New 9 and a half year contract with no termination clause
Erling Haaland has committed to spending his entire career at Manchester City , having signed a nine-and-a-half-year contract that will bind him to the club until 2034. The news was announced this Friday by The Athletic newspaper and shortly afterwards confirmed by the club.
This means that, at the end of his contract, the Norwegian player will be 34 years old, on the verge of 35. Also according to The Athletic, Haaland ‘s contract extension eliminates the previous termination clauses, making it one of the most lucrative sporting contracts ever.
Haaland had a contract until June 2027. This season, despite the team’s less good moment, he has scored 21 goals in 28 games.
Haaland has scored 111 goals in 126 appearances for Man City in all competitions since joining from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022. He has won six trophies: in his first season, the 2022/23 campaign, he helped the club win the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
In 2023, City and Haaland won the Super Cup and, in the 2023/24 season, they won the Premier League again. In 2024, they won the Super Cup, known as the Community Shield.
On an individual level, Haaland won two Premier League Golden Boots and was named the best young player of the season and the best player of the season.
