Inter Milan beat Empoli to move closer to Serie A lead
Inter Milan beat Empoli 3-1 in a match valid for the 21st round of the Italian Championship, held on Sunday (19) at the Giuseppe Meazza stadium, in Milan. The result keeps the Nerazzurri in the fight for the leadership of the competition.

The game started evenly, with few clear chances for either side in the first half. The match became more exciting in the second half, when Lautaro Martínez opened the scoring in the 10th minute with a beautiful finish. Denzel Dumfries extended the lead in the 33rd minute, taking advantage of a corner kick. Empoli reduced the deficit through Sebastiano Esposito in the 38th minute, but Marcus Thuram secured the victory for Inter in the 43rd minute, following a pass from Marko Arnautovic.
With the victory, Internazionale reached 47 points and took over second place in the Italian Championship, just 3 points behind leaders Napoli. Empoli remains in 14th place, with 20 points, and sees its situation become more complicated in the fight against relegation.
