Atlético de Madrid defeats Salzburg and advances to the round of 16 of the Champions League

Atleti resolves the issue in the first half
A dance in Austria. With a great performance from their forwards, Atlético de Madrid gave Salzburg no chance and won 4-1. The result guaranteed Diego Simeone’s team a place in the round of 16 of the Champions League. His son Giuliano opened the scoring, Griezmann scored twice and Marcos Llorente scored the other goal for the Spanish side. Daghim pulled one back.
Atlético Madrid played a near-perfect first half, with South America on the rise. Giuliano Simeone opened the scoring after an assist from fellow Argentine Julián Álvarez. Simeone then left Uruguayan Griezmann free to score. Then, Argentine De Paul passed the ball to Brazilian Samuel Lino who passed to Griezmann, who scored again.
In the second half, De Paul passed to Marcos Llorente to score the fourth, and RB Salzburg’s Daghim scored the last goal of the game with a beautiful shot.
Atlético Madrid could face giants in the round of 16
Fifth in the first phase with 18 points, Atlético de Madrid has a great chance of facing a giant in the round of 16. Simeone’s team’s group includes Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Celtic and Manchester City. One of these four will face Atlético or Bayer Leverkusen.
