Sérgio Conceição: “Refereeing was not at the level of the UEFA Champions League”

Sérgio Conceição left criticisms about Milan ‘s performance in Croatia, against Dinamo Zagreb , and criticized the refereeing. The Portuguese coach’s team lost 1-2 and will play the play-off for access to the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League .
“In the first half we lacked the basics of football, which are attacking and defensive duels, aggressiveness. There was also an individual error, which can happen. But we must do more. When we scored the goal, we tried to win. They are high-level teams and we must be prepared”, he commented, in the quick interview area, to Sky Sport microphones .
“Then we talked about tactics and other things, but sometimes we saw that we had to enter the duels stronger and more aggressive. I liked the second half, even when we were outnumbered [Musah received his second yellow card and was sent off in the 39th minute]. We tried to win and not draw. We still have everything ahead of us, it depends on us, but we have to do more,” he continued.
“I had 17 players, two or three youngsters on the bench. It’s a moment like that. I could have come here with excuses. I didn’t talk about that, the pitch and the refereeing, which in my opinion wasn’t at the level of the UEFA Champions League . I could talk about that, but I don’t feel like it,” he added.
