Alphonso Davies will stay in Munich despite Real Madrid’s harassment
One of the most controversial transfer market dramas is (very) close to coming to an end. Despite fierce pressure from Real Madrid , Alphonso Davies is set to remain at Bayern Munich, according to The Athletic.
The same source says that the Canadian full-back, whose current contract ends next summer, will sign a new four-and-a-half-year deal, which will keep him at the Allianz Arena until 2030.
The 24-year-old was heavily pursued by Real Madrid and a number of Premier League clubs , but Bayern made a huge effort to keep Davies .
The Canada international joined Bayern from Major League Soccer side Vancouver Whitecaps in January 2019 and has already won five Bundesliga titles with the Bavarians. He was also a key figure in their UEFA Champions League triumph in 2020.
This season, Davies has made 25 appearances in all competitions for the club so far, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
