With a miracle goal, Everton and Liverpool tied in the premier league
Liverpool derby features goals from Beto, Mac Allister and Salah. Tarkowski equalised in the last play and sent offs after the final whistle

AT LIGHTS OUT
Everton vs Liverpool in the delayed 15th round of the Premier League was exciting until the end. This Wednesday, the two drew 2-2 in the match that marked the farewell of the Liverpool city derby at Goodison Park, the stadium that will be replaced by Everton’s new arena. Beto opened the scoring, Mac Allister equalized, Salah turned the game around, and Tarkowski made it all equal with the last kick. The game also had fights and expulsions after the final whistle, including that of coach Arne Slot. Liverpool remains in first place, with 57 points and misses the opportunity to open up a nine-point lead over second-place Arsenal. While Everton moves up one position, goes to 15th and stays with 27.
GOODBYE TO GOODISON
The 2-2 draw in the delayed round of the English Championship marks a big farewell in the history of football. Everton vs Liverpool, one of the oldest city clashes in England, was last held at Goodison Park (home of the home team since 1892). This is because the stadium will be demolished soon, and the teams will only face each other again at the Arne Slot stadium. Everton will now host their games at Everton Stadium, an arena that is in the process of being completed. The new home will have much more modern facilities and is expected to open in the first rounds of the 2025/26 season.
CONFUSION WITH GAME FINISHED
The excitement was so great after the draw that tempers flared. Some Everton fans invaded the pitch and had to be restrained by security. After the final whistle, Doucouré tried to provoke the Liverpool fans and ended up being charged by Curtis Jones. Players and coaching staff arrived to break it up. The confusion spread everywhere, and yellow and red cards were handed out. Doucouré and Jones, who had already been punished in the game, received their second yellow card and were sent off. Meanwhile, coach Arne Slot and his assistant Sipke Hulshoff received straight red cards.
EMOTION UNTIL THE END
Wednesday’s derby started off slow but ended full of adrenaline. In a first half with only three shots on goal, Beto opened the scoring after a mistake by Liverpool’s defense. Ten minutes in, Branthwaite took a free kick straight into the box, and the striker ran between the defenders to finish. Five minutes later, Salah crossed, and Mac Allister headed the ball into the net.
Salah seemed to be out of the game in the second half, but he emerged at just the right moment. In the 27th minute, he took advantage of a rebound from Curtis Jones’ shot and turned the game around. Then, in the last play of the game , O’Brien crossed from the middle into the area, the ball bounced, and Iregbunam headed it in. Tarkowski came from behind to shoot and secure the draw in the derby.
