Manchester City travel to the Spanish capital to face Real Madrid after losing 2-3 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League play-off tie.

Guardiola: “Chances of winning at the Bernabéu? I don’t even know if they’re 1%”

After a 2-3 defeat in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League play-off , Manchester City and Real Madrid meet again this Wednesday for the second leg.

Going through a troubled season and looking to turn the tie around, the Citizens have a practically impossible task ahead of them… according to Pep Guardiola: «Everyone knows what the chances are of winning at the Bernabéu in this position… The percentage of chances of us qualifying, I don’t even know if it reaches 1%, but it is minimal.»

“As long as there are chances, we will believe, that’s for sure. But the harsh reality is that we are far from being at our best this season. We have had some very poor performances and some poor results,” said the Spanish coach in a press conference.

Still, it is City who arrive at a better moment, thanks to the thrashing imposed on Newcastle (4-0), while Los Blancos could only manage a draw against Osasuna (1-1).

The decisive match at the Santiago Bernabéu is scheduled for the 19th, at 8pm (continental Portugal time).
