‘This is pathetic’: Premier League legend slams Bruno Fernandes and Dalot

Manchester United were losing to Everton , leaving the 26th round of the Premier League with a point (2-2), however the draw does not erase the Red Devils ‘ poor first half at Goodison Park, with Alan Shearer highlighting three players negatively: Bruno Fernandes , Diogo Dalot and Hojlund .

The Premier League legend was unhappy with the Portuguese full-back’s clash with winger Jack Harrison in a Toffees initiative , while the Portuguese midfielder and the Danish forward were both targeted for their weak pressure in the move that led to the hosts’ second goal.

“Look at Man United, look at this, I mean, this is pathetic,” the former Newcastle great said on Match of the Day, adding: “There are players who are moving. Look at the space Everton have to play in. Look at Harrison, look at Garner. They both want to get the ball. And if they get it, Dalot is eight metres away. Why don’t you just stand one metre away and if they get it, make a tackle? Then there’s Garner’s run, all he wants.”

“Suddenly, they are in our defense. The same thing again, you go from left to right, you make two touches, three touches, you raise your head, you make the pass, you go wherever you want because it is very easy for you, because no one is working,” he noted, reinforcing the criticism: “For me, it is confusing. I don’t know if they really know what they are doing there. Look at the effort or the lack of it.”

“Everton’s second goal is the worst of all. Look at this from Bruno Fernandes when Doucouré gets the ball. Is that really the best you can do?” asked the former striker. “He takes one touch, plays it back and Everton get the goal they really deserve. So the difference between the two teams, and for 72 minutes Man United didn’t have a chance. I look at some of the players and they are struggling a lot,” he stressed.
