LaLiga denounces racist chants against Vinícius Jr.
Incidents are believed to have occurred in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Sociedad

LaLiga continues its crusade against hate crimes in Spanish football. For this reason, it has filed a complaint against some Real Sociedad fans for having chanted racist chants and gestures towards Vinícius Júnior during the match on 26 February against Real Madrid .
«After gathering the necessary evidence to prove the existence of racist insults and their authorship – through the location and analysis of images and the performance of lip-reading expertise -, LaLiga reported to the Ertzaintza [autonomous police of the Basque Country] those responsible for the racist insults and gestures against the player Vinícius Júnior , during the Copa del Rey semi-final match between Real Sociedad and Real Madrid , on February 26th», explained the clubs’ employers’ association, in a note sent to the media.
“ LaLiga remains firm in its intention to eradicate any manifestation of hatred from our footballing environment,” he concluded.
This is not the first time that the institution chaired by Javier Tebas has denounced acts that constitute hate crimes in competitions that do not belong to LaLiga . In the past, the organization had already filed a complaint for acts that occurred in a Copa del Rey game, when a Vinicius dummy was hung from a bridge, on the eve of a classic between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid .
