4 European clubs that have already changed coaches in the 2023/24 season


Olympique de Marseille announced this week the departure of coach Marcelino García . The Spaniard remained in office for just three months, playing in command in just seven matches. The resignation came after being harshly criticized by radical fans of the French club.

The team debuts in the Europa League against Ajax this Thursday (21) and plays the classic against PSG in Ligue 1 next Sunday (24). Meanwhile, look for a replacement for García as quickly as possible.

1. Wolverhampton

Julen Lopetegui left Wolverhampton in the middle of the pre-season due to disagreements with the board, mainly over the signing policy. A day after the Spaniard’s departure, Wolves announced Gary O’Neil as their new coach on August 9th . 3. Lyon

Lyon broke their contract with Laurent Blanc on 10 September. By mutual agreement, club and coach agreed to end the relationship. On the 16th of the same month, he announced Fabio Grosso as the new coach, becoming the first Italian in history to command the team, as well as being the first to play for the club in 2007. The team is experiencing the worst start to the season in history, being in 17th place in the French Championship with just 2 points in 5 matches played.

4. Empoli


The first manager to fall in Italian Serie A was Empoli ‘s Paolo Zanetti . After suffering a 7-0 defeat by Roma , on September 19, the club announced the departure of the coaching staff. He then presented the new coach, Aurelio Andreazzoli , who returns for the 4th time in charge of the club. The team is at the bottom of the Italian Championship, with no points in 4 matches played.
