Gabriel Jesus’ performance shocks Arsenal teammate
Midfielder from the striker’s new club speaks, in an interview, about his impression of the Brazilian at the beginning
Gabriel Jesus , for many years, stayed at Manchester City and rarely reached the status of an absolute starter. Because of this, the Brazilian striker’s desire to leave the team and go somewhere where he could show more of his football was clear.
In 2022, Gabriel Jesus agreed to move to Arsenal , in a transaction that will yield City around 52 million euros (R$289 million). Since arriving, he has participated in five games (including pre-season) and has found the net seven times.
Gabriel Jesus ‘ success seems to have impacted even his teammates. In an interview with channel “Five”, midfielder Emile Smith Rowe revealed that he is impressed with the Brazilian even in training.
“I already knew the players who came back (from loan), I knew how good they were, so it wasn’t a surprise how well they were doing. But about the new players, I think Gabriel Jesus… I didn’t know how sharp he was. I’ve been telling my friends, who ask, that ‘he’s ridiculous,'” Rowe said .
“Obviously playing against him is different, you saw him in action at Manchester City . But when you see him in training… Everyone on the team is really excited for this new season. I believe the fans must be like that too”, he added.
