Manchester City pressures Haaland to… renew
The “citizens” intend to fend off any possible interest from Real Madrid in signing the 23-year-old Norwegian striker.
The European and English champion Manchester City, the team where the Portuguese Rúben Dias, Bernardo Silva and Matheus Nunes play, is “crazy” to extend their connection to the “jewel” Erling Haaland.
According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, the “citizens” are putting pressure on the people who deal with the Norwegian international’s sporting aspects so that, in the coming months, the player’s contract is renewed for another year.
The 23-year-old striker’s current contract with City expires in June 2027, but, with this initiative, the “Blues from Manchester” intend to ward off any possible interest from Real Madrid in the goalscorer. The Etihad team fears that Kylian Mbappé’s transfer to the Santiago Bernabéu will not materialize and, in that sense, that the Merengues will go after Erling Haaland.
In this new contract, the striker, who scored 52 accurate shots for the “citizens” last season, would increase his salary and continue to have a clause allowing him to leave.
