Samuel Chimerenka Chukwueze is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker. He was born on May 22, 1999 in Umuahia, Nigeria. Chukwueze began his career at the Diamond Football Academy in his hometown. In 2017, he was discovered by Villarreal CF scouts and signed a professional contract with the Spanish club. Chukwueze made his professional debut for Villarreal in the 2018-19 season. He quickly became a regular for the team, scoring 10 goals in 42 games. In the 2021–22 season, Chukwueze helped Villarreal reach the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. He scored the winning goal in the second quarter-final game against Bayern Munich, leading Villarreal to a 2-1 victory. Chukwueze is also a regular player for the Nigerian national team.
