Paul Pogba banned from football for four years for doping

This Thursday, the Italian Anti-Doping Court announced that Frenchman Paul Pogba is suspended from football for four years. The Juventus midfielder tested positive for synthetic testosterone in August last year.
The midfielder has already been preventively suspended since September 2023 and will now have to serve his sentence until September 10, 2027.

Pogba tested positive for the substance after the match between Juventus and Udinese in the 1st round of the Italian Championship, on the 20th of August. The Frenchman didn’t even enter the field at the time, but was selected to take the exam after the game.
The 30-year-old played just two games this season and spent just over 50 minutes on the field in total.

The midfielder has a contract with Juventus until June 2026. The Italian club is considering terminating the contract with the athlete. The possibility of Pogba ending his career is also not ruled out according to the Italian press. The Frenchman has already suffered from numerous injuries in recent years.

In addition to the Italian club, Pogba had a spell at Manchester United and was world champion with the French team in 2018.
