In a quick interview with DAZN, Casemiro lamented the result of the Manchester derby, explaining that his team had a specific tactic to counter Manchester City ‘s offensive :
«It’s a very difficult field, they press a lot, but they also leave space for the counterattack. It’s a great goal from Rashford and then we tried to execute those counterattacks, but we conceded that goal very quickly and we know it’s very difficult here. It’s a past defeat, but we already have an important game next weekend and we have to think about it,” he said.
Manchester United is eleven points behind Aston Villa , fourth placed, but the Brazilian still believes it is possible to reach the group stage of the Champions League and win the FA Cup : «We know there are still 11 rounds to go, 33 points, so these are important points, we know that there is still a long way to go before our objective, which is the top 4. The championship is a long way away, but we always have to think about titles. Last year we played for a title, this year we have a title to compete for.”
Finally, he lamented the number of injuries that Erik Ten Hag’s team has suffered this season: «The work has been done and in football you have that, ups and downs, a lot of injuries, of course that can never be an excuse for the greatness of the club.
