Felipe, from Nottingham Forest, announces retirement at the end of the Premier League

Nottinhgam Forest defender, Felipe announced his retirement from football at the end of the season. In a statement published on social media this Monday (04), the 34-year-old defender revealed that he will say goodbye to the field when the Premier League ends.

I’ve been thinking a lot over the last few months and, together with my family, I’ve made a decision about my future in football. There were great moments lived, a career that I can only be grateful for, playing for big clubs, four different countries, the Brazilian National Team and a lot of stories to tell for the rest of my life. But the time has come to leave the field and the idea is to stop at the end of this season here at Nottingham Forest, in England”, he commented.
Felipe spoke about the interest of several clubs in signing him. Having spent a short time with the Brazilian national team, the defender He won titles with Corinthians, Porto and Atlético de Madrid. Since 2022, he has been at Nottingham Forest, a club for which he has played just seven games in the current season, six as a starter. It

Felipe’s career in professional football began at Bragantino in 2011. A year later, he arrived at Corinthians, the club that put him in the spotlight of Europe. With Timão, he won the Campeonato Paulista and the Recopa, in 2013, and the Brasileirão, in 2015. In total, he wore the Alvinegro shirt in 110 games, with eight goals scored.
For Atlético de Madrid, he spent four years, with 113 matches, four goals and a LaLiga title, in the 2020/21 season. Previously, he had been a Porto player, for whom he experienced great moments that earned him his first call-up to the Brazilian national team. He played 142 games for the Portuguese club and was champion of the local league in 2017/18, and the Portuguese Super Cup in 2018.
