João Cancelo wants to stay at Barcelona next season

The Portuguese full-back expressed this desire, spoke about the Champions League and the difficulties he has faced this season
João Cancelo is on loan from Manchester City to Barcelona and revealed in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport that he would like to stay at the club next season: «I still don’t know what my future will be, but I want to continue with Barça. (…) I grew up with Ronaldinho as an idol and I’m proud to wear the club’s shirt.”
The Portuguese then discussed «a year that hasn’t been easy» for the Blaugrana : «Barcelona is a very particular club. The coach said he was leaving, the team had ups and downs and a dynamic that was difficult to explain.”
“But a victory against Napoli would be a vindication. In football there are good and bad moments, like in life, we have to remain positive and united», explained Cancelo. Barcelona plays the Neapolitans this Tuesday in the Champions League , after a 1-1 draw in the 1st leg.
The 29-year-old player then had no doubts about choosing the club that still holds his ticket as the main candidate to win the Champions League: «Manchester City is the favorite (…) due to the squad, the style of play, the trainer. They can win two Champions Leagues in a row, I’m sure.”
