After the match, the coach of the colchoneros , Diego Simeone, spoke to the Amazon Prime microphones .

«When we had Riquelme’s opportunity and he couldn’t score, I wanted to die. We gave him an important penalty and he shot with confidence. We need the boys to gain space. Happy for the fans and the players, we played against a very strong team and we deserved to win.”
For the second half, the coach of the colchoneros brought on Correa and Depay , two bets won by the coach as both scored in the penalty shootout ( Depay even tied the tie). Simeone commented on his choice.
«We waited, Morata is very important for us. We knew we could play extra time, I added Depay and Correa and the team changed. Depay scored a goal, we could have scored two more and we played a very good and intelligent game. We knew we had to defend well and attack poorly”, explained the Atlético de Madrid coach.
