Marseille pays homage to Africa with new equipment collection

French club launched equipment collection after defeat against Benfica in the Europa League
It would certainly not be this way that Marseille fans would have imagined the club’s first reaction to the 2-1 defeat, at the Estádio da Luz, against Benfica , in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Europa League .

Even so, in the wake of the European game, the French club announced, this Friday, a new collection of equipment in honor of the African continent, entitled «OM AFRICA». According to the club, the new equipment “symbolizes the unbreakable link between Marseille and Africa”.

This statement from the club is no surprise. To give you an idea, Marseille has 14 players of African nationality in its squad (15 if we count the young striker François Mughe, from Cameroon, who is on loan at Dunkerque, from Ligue 2).
