Rodrygo Silva de Goes Childhood Story (See how it all started)

 
Rodrygo Silva de Goes was born on January 9, 2001, to mother, Denise Goes and father, Eric Batista de Goes, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil.
Rodrygo is the result of a very young and successful marriage between his parents (Denise and Eric) when they were both teenagers. His father had him when he was just 17 years old.
Superstar Rodrydo was born as the first child of his parents. He grew up as an only child for years, without a brother or sister.

Rodrigo grew up in a middle-class family whose income came from sports. His father started life as a football player in Brazil’s lower divisions, which did not earn him enough money for his family.
Having had his son at an early age, Eric knew he wouldn’t have much success in his career. He hatched a plan to continue living his football dreams through his son, Rodrygo.
From an early age, Rodrygo began his football adventures in his family’s living room, a feat that awakened his love for the beautiful game. A football education came immediately thanks to his father’s guidance.
Eric, who was a Real Madrid fan, was keen for his son to imitate Robinho ‘s skills and trajectory , which they considered very high.
Rodrigo was not only exposed to Robinho ‘s videos , but copied his every move. At the age of 9, when he was called up for the Santos trials, his father’s pride knew no limits.

First steps in football

Goes’ passion for football meant he passed his exams with flying colors and joined the Santos academy, which gave him the basis for his career. Upon joining the Santos youth system in 2010, at the age of 10.
Rodrygo’s parents insisted that their son be assigned to the club’s futsal team.
From the age of 10, Rodrygo started playing with bigger and older boys. He always stood out in his games.
Playing futsal as a striker helped him develop the technique of keeping the ball at his feet, dribbling past defenders and using his speed to score goals.
As Rodrygo continued to develop, he found himself continually becoming the best among his peers.
This feat generated constant pressure to perform, which he managed to withstand, becoming captain of the youth team.
 

Rodrygo in the starting team

In March 2017, he was called up to the starting lineup by coach Dorival Júnior.
Rodrigo debuted in the Copa Libertadores on March 1, 2018, breaking the record for the youngest Santos player to play in the competition, aged 17 years and 50 days.
Just two weeks later, in the same competition, Rodrygo scored his first goal of the tournament.
This feat made him the youngest Brazilian to score in the Copa Libertadores. Rodrygo was also awarded Best Newcomer at the 2018 Campeonato Paulista.

Rodrygo at Real Madrid

This is the most important day of your life that has finally happened. The day Rodrygo made his dreams come true by signing for Real Madrid in a deal that saw him receive an early yellow card.
 

 

On June 15, 2018, Rodrygo was signed by Real Madrid for 45 million euros.
After playing in some pre-season matches, he officially debuted for the Merengue team on September 25, 2019, against Osasuna, in the Spanish Championship.
On 6 November 2019, by scoring a hat-trick against Galatasaray, Rodrygo became the youngest Brazilian to score a goal in the UEFA Champions League, at 18 years and 301 days. In addition to this mark, Rodrygo became the second youngest in the history of the competition, behind Raúl González, Rodrigo ended his first season at Real with 26 games and 7 goals.

 

 

2020–21

The 2-0 score at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium assured Real of the Champions League knockout stage. After providing an assist for Benzema to give Mönchengladbach’s defense a lot of trouble, Rodrygo performed his best performance in a Real shirt, according to the Spanish press.
Rodrigo ended the season as a substitute, but played 33 games and scored 2 goals

2021–22

On 30 April, Rodrygo helped Real win their 35th La Liga title after scoring twice in a 4–0 win against Espanyol at the Bernabéu.
On May 4, 2022, in a game valid for the semi-finals of the Champions League, Real Madrid was being eliminated from the competition until the 90th minute of the second half, when Rodrygo scored a historic double over Manchester City in just 2 minutes, leading to Real Madrid team for extra time
He ended this season with 49 games and 9 goals, certainly his best season with the Real Madrid shirt.

2022–23

Real Madrid defeated Al Ahly, from Egypt, 4-1, on February 8, 2023, in the Club World Cup semi-final. With the absence of Karim Benzema, Rodrygo had the chance to play among the starters and lived up to expectations. He scored one of the goals in the 4-1 victory, actually a great goal
On April 18, Rodrygo scored two goals in the 2-0 victory against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, in London, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Real Madrid beat Osasuna 2-1 and won the Copa del Rey on May 6, with two goals from Rodrygo
